Some miscellaneous madness

Here's a new banner I made for butte college, part of the celebration of the local wildlife series of banners.

Neither the picture or the sewing job do it justice.  "Japanese salary man wants to kill himself."

Rick Howard for Fourstar.   Nothin' like takin' money out of the pockets of companies you'd actually be happy to support.  I didn't realize till it was on the shirt that it reads like "pornstar."  Sorry Rickk!  Here, have some free adspace that noone will see!

Reynolds Forever

From an old Thrasher. I'm actually in an ad the page right before the Reynolds interview, in the background at berkeley. Now that I think about it, I might fill in some of that open space in the bottom right hand corner. The problem with the reference picture is there's type right there.

I think this might be the first time I've actually drawn something, scanned and posted it all in the same day

Lo Down

A couple of semesters ago, I had math with my friend Downer (of whom the Butte College Associated Students' December 8th executive meeting minutes say "...is high energy and very knowledgeable about subject").

We basically just spent the entire time asking the teacher dumb questions like if he was in Nam' or at Woodstock. That, and drawing random shit. These are some of the gifts I recieved from him throughout the class.

I guess it's a pig

us army- of monkeys.

skydiving cat

thanks, Downer.

and for the record, Mr. Reynolds was in neither in 'Nam, or at Woodstock.

Hey kids!

It's International Education Week at Butte college!  Actually, it was last semester.  One of the projects in super graphics last semester was to design a banner for it.  Almost everyone in the class hated this project.  Dylan and I were in the midst of putting up my banner a couple of weeks ago, when we were kindly informed by Daniel that The Man wanted all old banners pulled down.

maybe he'd have more time for bullying if he weren't so busy all the time

Dylan did all the hard work.  Less of an "instructor" more of a "student wrangler. "

"you better get some good shots of that thing"

The Man shut us down

The way he was posing made it seem like he took more, but the two above are the only ones I can confirm as Dylan shots.

I showed my shots to my uncle chopper, master picture takerer.  He didn't seem too impressed.

He always manages to hide that left hand...

same old shit

I just spent like half an hour trying to design a new banner. Then I remembered no one reads this shit, and decided what I had fit with that theme.

"This is punk rock, kid!"

welcome to obama nation...

...and a post completely unrelated to it. more old shit. I just can't stop going through old trash. This was for graphic design 2, which I took...2 or 3 years ago? I'm not sure. I was tempted to go through and retouch some of the crappy elements (blown out filter effects, shoddy photograph edges) but fuck it.

I remember I did this project because I didn't like the original box art. I got sick of seeing first person shooter covers that had pictures of guys firing guns at nothing. I wanted to focus on the more dramatic aspects of the game. I guess it didn't work, because the first thing that came out of someone's mouth was that it "looked like the cover for every shooting game I've ever seen."

stupid cracker!
